Nairobi National Museum of Art

The Nairobi National Museum is chock-full of interesting history, art, and skeletons depicting the ascent of mankind (some dating back millions of years). The Black Scull (from mineral deposits) was ancient and exceptionally interesting.

We got a a very informative guide who was very patient with our small group of sometimes wandering “cats.”

I asked this family if they wanted me to take their picture for them and they thought I wanted to take their picture. So I did both

Besides especially liking the temporary art exhibit and the paleontology pieces, I loved the aquarium and reptile museum. It was out the door next to the large stain glass “mural” depicting animals, flowers, trees and sky, a few steps across the stone path, past unique sculptures, an gentle older lady calling out to each person passing to come eat at her outdoor cafe, and down some stone stairs.

The animal keeper invited us over to him and pulled a couple of lizards from a tree
